Trista Miller is trainer behind Polite Paws, LLC and instructs all private sessions. When offered, she manages dog sport classes and teaches beginning courses. Trista is a CPDT-KA certified trainer, AKC CGC and Trick Dog Evaluator, and certified in Pet CPR and First Aid. She has completed Michael Shikashio’s Master Course-Aggression in Dogs and Susan Friedman’s Living and Learning with Animals course. She hosted Canine Con 2022, and has earned a BA in psychology and education. Trista, along with her husband, owns and manages Fido’s Forest, Fort Wayne’s exclusive-use, 5 acre wooded dog park. Trista also founded and leads a local nonprofit rescue for Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Heartland Cavalier Connection, Inc.
Trista’s family has had a variety of pets her entire life, including horses, rabbits, cats, fish, birds and dogs including poodles, boxers, German shepherds, and mix breed dogs. Trista has owned and bred Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and has fostered mixed breed and full-breed dogs. Trista is married and has four fur babies: Bitzy (mixed breed, Jack Russell and Miniature Poodle), Piper (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel), Magnus (Cavapoo), and Pollyanna (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Trista also owns and actively manages a wedding floral business called Rose’s Bouquets.
